Pornhub launches VPNhub

Pornhub launches VPNhub, a VPN service with free, unlimited bandwidth

Pornhub, one of the most-trafficked adult video sites on the Web, is releasing a virtual private network (VPN) with free, unlimited bandwidth to help keep spying eyes far from your browsing activity. Seriously. It's called VPNhub and apps are already offered for iOS and Android, with Windows and MacOS apps for premium subscribers.

VPNs exist to prevent ISP-level website blocking or tracking and keep your browsing activity private, even on public Wi-Fi connections, by encrypting your information. Introducing a VPN service makes good sense for Pornhub in an age when some governments are leaning towards regulating adult content online, including the UK. The unlimited bandwidth-- while extremely unusual for free VPNs-- does as well considered that Pornhub's existence focuses on streaming videos. However VPNhub isn't really planned as a safe and secure Pornhub portal alone; you can browse other sites online too.

Upgrading to a premium subscription for $13 a month removes advertisements, offers much faster speeds, and opens servers "from a wide variety of countries," per VPNhub's Frequently Asked Question. A seven-day free trial is offered. The service is offered worldwide except in countries that the U.S. prohibits companies from operating in, such as Cuba, Iran, and North Korea.

Now for the undecided bits. Pornhub guarantees to "never ever store, collect, sell, or transmit your personal information to 3rd parties," as you 'd hope from a VPN, though the privacy policy says the service can sell "aggregate or non-personally recognizable information with non-affiliated 3rd parties for advertising, marketing or research purposes."
